안녕하세요! 잘 지냈지요?
요즘은 날씨가 따뜻해서 좋아요.
이번 주는 조금 바빠서 이제서야 메일을 보내요. 미안해요!
Sorry for the late email this week! It's been a very busy week for me.
On Sunday,
We learned about 3.1절 (Korean independence movement day), 아리랑 (Arirang), and Korean expressions about if you've had ____ (food) before, how it was, etc.
We'll continue our conversation/expressions related to food (flavor/ingredient names, etc).
Here's the link for 아리랑 (by BTS). Let's practice a few times together on Sunday as well.
Last week, I gave you a few sentences to try translating in Korean (for those who're still hesitant to write in Korean). Here's my version of the answer if you'd like to compare it with yours. Feel free to reach out for any questions!
----------------------------
- I've been to Chicago before, and I had a lot of fun there.
- I went there with my family.
- We drove there.
- But I don't want to visit there again.
- Because there are too many people and too many cars on the road.
저는 시카고에 가본 적 있어요. 재미있었어요.
가족이랑 운전해서 다녀왔는데, 사람이 너무 많고, 도로에 차도 너무 많아서 사실 별로 다시는 가고 싶진 않아요.
----------------------------
For this week's writing topic, you may write about:
"Your favorite Korean show" - such as when it came out, what you liked about it, if you want to recommend it to someone else, etc.
If you'd rather try translating Korean sentences below, try these:
- I watched Crash Landing On You (사랑의 불시착) last year.
- I was fun to watch.
- The guy is very handsome.
- The girl is pretty too.
- The show is also hilarious.
- I was surprised that the main guy and girl actually got married in real life (true story!)
------------------------------
Also, 미영씨 shared her concern about her difficulties in improving listening skills. Listening will take time and efforts (lots of), but you'll get there! (don't be stressed about it so much!) Just keep on watching your favorite shows and songs and you'll see improvement slowly but surely. We'll talk about a few things you could do to help with your listening skills on Sunday.
고마워요!
일요일에 봐요!
